A grandmother in the US has come up with a creative way to connect with her grandchildren during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sharon Klafter, a retired teacher from Florida, started Stories on Wheels to entertain her grandkids while social distancing.
She parks on her daughter Kelly Hauser’s driveway, sets up a curtain in the car window, puts on a fun hat and shares different books with her grandchildren.
Mrs Hauser said it had been hard to social distance from her parents, but it was necessary to keep them safe.
“It hit my mother hard not being able to hug and spend time with her grandchildren,” Mrs Hauser said.
“She is a devoted grandmother…her passion for children and teaching is in her soul.”
Mrs Hauser said her mother came up with the idea for Stories on Wheels to interact with her grandchildren in a safe way.
“She inspires them, leaves them with an activity and plants that seed of love for learning,” she said.
“As Mother’s Day approaches and we continue to experience the effects of this pandemic, we could all use a little love like this.”
